It is almost Christmas day,

but is everything ready?

Do we still have things to do, or are we beginning to panic that every thing will be ready?

        God planned that first Christmas in every detail, so that nothing was left to chance and he certainly never had to press the panic button. In Psalm 46 we read these words “Be still and know that I am God” We often take them to mean let us just be still and stop rushing around, and, of course, they mean that. However they have a far deeper meaning. They mean let God be God in every occasion and situation. Let me therefore just challenge each and every one of us this Christmas time to spend a time in quiet reflection thinking over the true meaning of Christmas and in that stillness let God be God by allowing Him to speak to us of His love.

                The hymn writer put it this way, when writing about God’s love coming down at Christmas.

                        Love came down at Christmas,

                        Love all lovely, love divine;

                        Love was born at Christmas,

                        Star an angels gave the sign.

The next two verses challenge us to not only Worship our Lord and saviour, but to go on and share that love with others.
